A few pics from the second half of our honeymoon.
Mainland Scotland was big oppressive mountains and black waters.
Skye slightly better…but Harris and Lewis were totally beautiful.
Holiday low points – midges on the mainland, rain, a really shit Mountain Warehouse tent (never buy their own branded stuff) and crowds on Skye.
Holiday high points – silence, early morning bacon baps in Moffat, The Haven B&B‘s breakfast in Plockton, a white coral beach, homemade peanut cookies sold from a cupboard outside a cottage on Waternish point, seeing a Minke whale, camping by Uig beach (where the Lewis chessmen were found), finding gold (probably iron pyrite) on Brue beach near Stewart’s house, exploring Eoropie beach, seeing Stewart happy in Brue, brochs, black houses and standing stones, the crystal turquoise waters of South Harris, coffee in Tarbert, a sunny ferry and most of all being with Al.
